VLF tester for cables (6 kV … 10 kV)

SKU: 4583

VLF testing allows for the quick detection of insulation faults in medium-voltage plastic or paper-insulated cables, all while preserving the quality of the surrounding insulating material.
These devices perform VLF and DC testing, as well as sheath testing with sheath fault pre-location possibilities. They also meet all international test guidelines and standards.
Also, these devices can measure dissipation factor using 0.1 Hz VLF voltage output which provides differentiated information on the ageing condition of paper impregnated and PE/XLPE cables.
In the case of PE/XLPE cables, the dissipation factor measurement is capable of differentiating between new, slightly or severely “water tree” damaged cables.
