Hioki RM3546 resistance meter delivers industry leading resistance measurement accuracy while ensuring precise quantification of minute resistance changes. Its Advanced Temperature Compensation A-TC function enables accurate measurements even in environments where temperature fluctuates rapidly, such as immediately after welding. This capability allows early detection of subtle welding defects and helps prevent defective products from reaching the next production stage.
A newly integrated protection feature immediately activates the circuit protection system and shuts down the circuit when over-input is detected. This reduces equipment failure risk and minimizes costly production line downtime. Support for a maximum allowable path resistance of 9Ω and the availability of a dedicated probe kit ensure stable long-term system operation and simplified production line integration.
Optimized for EV and ESS Battery Production
With rapid growth in EV electric vehicle and ESS energy storage system markets, manufacturers face strict requirements including battery lifespans exceeding 20 years, ultra-fast charging capability, and superior safety. Developed by Hioki, the RM3546 performs high precision inspections on welded joints where large currents flow, supporting safer battery development and production.
High Resolution Low Resistance Measurement
Weld resistance typically ranges from 10 µΩ to 100 µΩ. The RM3546 offers a 1000 µΩ measurement range with exceptional 1 nΩ resolution, allowing precise differentiation between good and defective welds. By detecting slight resistance variations, the system enables accurate pass-fail determination and full numerical weld quality management for production traceability.
Advanced Compensation Technologies
A-OVC Advanced Offset Voltage Compensation automatically corrects thermoelectric power and internal offset voltage to minimize measurement error and stabilize readings. The A-TC function simultaneously measures temperature and resistance, compensating in real time to a reference temperature. Even immediately after welding, resistance values are corrected to room temperature for reliable judgement without waiting for cooling, reducing takt time.
Flexible Installation and Long Term Stability
High tolerance for path resistance simplifies system design by reducing concerns about cable, relay, probe, and contact resistance. Customizable probe pins allow flexible jig design and lower implementation workload.
Cost Efficient Expansion and Protection
The ACP Active Circuit Protection function prevents sudden malfunctions caused by accidental contact with active battery terminals, reducing repair costs and supporting stable long-term operation. The system supports up to 20 channels using two Z3003 multiplexer units and up to 132 channels when combined with the SW1002 switch mainframe, enabling scalable multi channel measurement with space and cost efficiency.
